information

The IDÉO project is an individualized support program available to Nikanik secondary school students age 13 to 17 in the Wemotaci territory. Initially intended for young dropouts or students likely to drop out of school, the project was adapted to the community’s needs and made available to all students in the school. IDÉO workers from Carrefour jeunesse-emploi provided students with individual coaching and conducted in-class workshops on self-awareness and the development of new skills, including coping constructively in times of crisis, being aware of problematic or improper behavior, finding aspirations for the future, developing self-esteem and autonomy, developing academic skills, and increasing knowledge. The goal of the program is to encourage students to get to know themselves better, adopt winning personal strategies, and stay in school.
